When it comes to cricket, Pakistan has no shortage of great players. We’ve been blessed with the likes of Javed Miandad and Imran Khan to Wasim Akram and Hanif Mohammad.
Now you can add another name to the list of players that have made history and made the nation proud: Younis Khan. He recently achieved the 10,000 test career runs milestone.
His achievement sparked a trend on Twitter #YounisKhan with legends like Wasim Akram congratulating him.
What Younis Has Achieved
Younis Khan has scored the highest runs in Pakistan when it comes to test matches. He is the only batsman in the world to have made 5 centuries in the fourth innings of a test match.
Younis is also the only Pakistani batsman who scored a century in a test match against 9Â different teams. He has made the most hundreds compared with other batsmen in Pakistan. Additionally, he made a century in a test match in 11 different countries which hosted the matches and is the only batsman in the world to do so.
Two years ago he broke the record of having scored the highest number of test runs among Pakistani cricketers, beating Javed Miandad’s record (8832 runs). He made just 19 more runs in the first innings of an ongoing test match against England.

Commenting on his achievement, Younis Khan said,
I kept on thinking about crossing Javed bhai, the greatest batsman Pakistan had. I might not be as skillful as he was but I am feeling privileged to cross him. Due credit should also be given to him because he is the one whom I have been following and heeding his advice to make it possible.
