NADRA Sets Up 2 Mega Centers in Karachi

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has set up ​two mega centers with a cost of Rs. 370 million in various densely populated areas of Karachi.

These NADRA centers are being set up with aim to provide swift services to the masses with the capacity to process 3,000 applications by each center on daily basis.

In this connection, Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali inaugurated the unique mega center in North Nazimabad and DHA. One more center is being set up in SITE Area that​​ will be operational by May 2017.

These mega centers will be functional 24/7 round-the-clock with a total of 105 employees working in three shifts.

It must be mentioned here that after the inauguration of these two mega centers, NADRA ​will ​close down its other usual centers in district South and Central.

NADRA mega centers will cater a large number of populations of central city and suburbs of Karachi. Hence, citizens of any area –from there — will benefit from these centers without any restrictions.

While speaking with media, the interior minister said as many as 324,000 CNICs have been blocked by the ministry for re-verification of authenticity. Among them, 174,000 CNICs will be restored after re-verification and re-registration of persons whereas 150,000 CNICs are blocked permanently.

He said that Interior Ministry continued its investigation for the availability of the fake CNICs and found involvement of nearly 600 officials, who will be charged as per law.
