CM Sindh Bans Cellphones in Exams Amid Leaked Papers Scandal

Following the story about several leaked exam papers on Whatsapp, Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah has instructed to impose a ban on mobile phones during Intermediate examinations in Karachi.

The ban has been imposed under Section-144.

In a meeting chaired by CM Sindh, he said that the decision has been taken to rein in cheating during exams. Furthermore, he added that he’ll personally overlook the process through which examinations are conducted in the region.

CM Murad visited various examination centers and boards to review the security arrangements. He paid a surprise visit to Islamia College Peoples Secretariat’s examination center along with Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) Prof. Inam Ahmed.

CM Sindh said that ensuring proper and fair examinations will improve Pakistan’s future. He added that the provincial authorities will bring all culprits to justice for leaking examination papers.

Police & Examination Security

Inspector General of Police, AD Khawaja, has asked security officials to help the examination centers and its administration against the cheating mafia.

AD Khawaja has asked for security personnel to be present outside the examination centers.

Furthermore, he also instructed the higher ranked officials i.e. SSPs and DIGs to periodically visit the examination centers to review a foolproof security plan.

      • What’s so funny about overlook? It also means ‘to supervise’.

    • What does the word mean actually? If taken in context? Can you elaborate? For me it means he’ll supervise the whole process.

  • Ban the mentality. It is not the cellphone that creates problem; it is the human factor!
