Chinese University to Establish Vocational Training Institute in Pakistan

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is being set up in collaboration with the Chinese Tianjin University of Technical Education (TUTE) in Punjab.

Additionally, an agreement to establish the University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE) was signed by Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Chairperson TEVTA and Liu Xin, President of TUTE in an event held in Tianjin China.

The agreement spells out the 8 degree courses that will be taught at the UTVE:

  1. Information Technology
  2. Automobile
  3. Electronics
  4. Mechanical Mechatronics
  5. Management Science
  6. Advanced Chinese Language
  7. Pedagogical Training
  8. 3D Printing Technology

Details about a ninth course are still undisclosed.

At the event, TEVTA Chairperson, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, said that this was a major step towards realizing the Chief Minister’s dream of establishing the UTVE.

Irfan was also keen to note that the establishment of the UTVE will provide a major boost to the country’s economy. He added that it would help the youth, which comprise about 60 percent of the population of Pakistan, to attain the skills they need to gain jobs and become entrepreneurs.

The government has already initiated the E-Rozgaar program to help the youth get employed and contribute towards the country’s economic betterment. In light of this scenario, institutes like TEVTA are much needed, which can help address the very real skills shortage and technical education emergency amongst the youth in the country.

    • Are you one of those who just can’t be happy no matter what government do?

We should criticize the government for bad decisions and appreciate for good work.

      • do you know how tenders work in tevta and how much corruption is there? any idea? any information? ya boht jaldi hoti hai dusro ko judge krny ki?

        • Corruption has spread like cancer in Pakistan even in private sector; so not doing anything to stop corruption is not the solution. Even if 50% of money is wasted in corruption and young unemployed persons get skills and start earning; It’s worth it.

    • You are like PTIans who do nothing themselve and always complain to others.and one more thing make big claims.

        • corruption is everywhere in pakistan in every deparment so tevta is not an exception but their is always a little bit benefit to people who get training on merit .I have personally seen people getting trained their and now either doing thier own work or doing jobs.

  • It is degree course will engineering council accept them as they dont support diploma holders.
