SBP Releases the Branch Codes for Issuance of Fresh Currency Notes

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has finally released the list of branches — and respective branch codes — from where Pakistanis can get fresh currency notes this Eid ul Fitr, 2017.

SBP not only reduced the fee of SMS to Rs. 1.50 per request but it has also doubled the number of bank branches for facilitating masses from where they will be able to obtain fresh currency notes of various denominations for the purpose of Eidi (Gift).

It must be noted here that customers’ request may not necessarily entertained as every branch will have a certain quota for the issuance of fresh currency notes.

An individual can obtain three (03) packets of Rs.10/- and one packet each of Rs. 50/- & Rs. 100/- as per availability of stock.

How and Where to Send SMS

Under this facility, an individual may send an SMS message, comprising of his/her 13 digits CNIC number along with the desired branch ID.

A reference text message will look like following:

3130205839863 (space) KHI005 and send this to 8877.

KH1005 is a branch code, that can be obtained from the list below.

After sending this message, customer will get a response through an SMS, and will be notified with a code that he/she will have to present at the bank for getting fresh currency notes.

In case of no response or decline in the request — in case the quota for fresh currency notes for that particular branch is reached — customer will have to send a new request with another branch id.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has doubled the number of branches to 1,000 this year from 500 of last year. These designated branches are based in 120 different cities of various commercial and specialized banks.

It is also notified that each CNIC number or mobile phone number can only be used once.

The issuance of fresh currency through Mobile SMS service will commence from 12th June and will continue till 23rd June, 2017.


  • I sent 2 SMS and got this response. This is simply another govt tactic to fill their pockets.

    Dear Customer, your message format is incorrect. Please send CNIC Branch ID to 8877. For further information visit SBP website.

    Note I tried NIC with dashes as well as withouth dashes.

    Pathetic.

    • Ufone super card walon ka msg nai ja raha. Msg k liye loan lyn ya recharge karyn. In case you are using Super card.

  • I have sent 4 sms from my family numbers and received all 4 replies within an hour. Sent ID card without dashes and only one space before branch code.

    By the way Not working on Ufone network.

    • sent 2 times with all steps no response balance also deducted ! I think its working to some places only

    • O No Main Ufone Rakhta hon to ab kya ho ga. wese maine kal msg kiya tha 6 hour k bad reply aya tha ufone sy to aya k inccorect. galti meri e thi q k maine purany code daikh k send kiye thy. abi again kiya hai dua hai Allah is bar kamyab kry.
      Acha bhai maine ye pochna tha k kam se kam bandda kitny paisy nikalwa skta hai or ziada se ziada kitny nikalwa skta hai??//

      • kam se kam 1 pakcet le skte hain 10 wala which will cost only Rs.1000/=, ziada se ziada Rs.18,000/= tk ke le skte hain (3 pkt 10 wale, 1 pkt 50 wala and 1 pkt 100 wala)

  • I have recieved a msg and they send me an I.D and give me a time period to get your currency note.

  • Mobilink, sent without dashes, received response back after 2 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Salam plzz tell me that kam se kam kitny paisy nikalwa skta hai or ziadda se ziada kitny nikalwa skta hai banda?

  • Yes so easy way of collecting fresh note.any cell number used once cannot b used again .similarly id card used once cannot b used again

  • Please define that in how much time the reply of sms sent to 8877 is received for getting fresh notes.

    • I have faced different timing of getting reply from 8877 its from 1 hour to upto 9 hours.

  • Sb bakwas hai mein 2 din sy try kr rha hu pr koi response nhi..awam ko bewaqqof bana rhy hein or sath sath network companies income generate kr rhi hai

  • they are charging 1.5 rupee and they it’s not working ..it’s just to fill their pocket on other side.
    so please go to the concern bank and tell them to send the message by there hands

  • SMS responding taking minimum 2 hours, then you also have to join the huge line insides the bank.

  • Tried 19 branches codes .. Everytime I got this message “Dear Customer, the Branch has reached its booking limit, Kindly select any other nearest Branch”
