Bilal Munir Sheikh, former Vice President of Jazz (formerly Mobilink) has joined Pakistan International Airlines as its Chief Commercial Officer, we have checked.
His appointments was confirmed by Sher ali khan, spokesperson of Aviation Division.
Bilal, a renowned name in telecom sector, has been part of senior management positions at various telecom companies. He brings along 24 years of experience in commercial, marketing, sales and customer care.
He is best known for his role at Jazz (then it was Mobilink) where he successfully lead the Marketing & Business Development of the company from 1 million customers at the time of his joining to over 38 million customers and growth of annual revenues from $180 million to $1.2 billion.
He was lately leading ERP Solutions provider as its CEO.
Coming with telecoms background and joining PIA, a rather less dynamic yet equally challenging opportunity, is definitely going to put Bilal to the test.
Unlike his previous roles, PIA remains engulfed with plentiful of political and situational happenings that are going to pose serious challenges for him.
But then that’s probably why he’s picked and placed into a leading position to change the direction of a company that was once our national pride.
