Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Officially Launched in Pakistan

Last week, ProPakistani reported that Xiaomi Pakistan was gearing up to launch a bunch of new products. 3 days ago, they launched the Mi 6 and a few eco products. Today we see the launch of the all new Xiaomi Mi Max 2.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is the successor to the already available Mi Max. Naturally, being a successor, it features a few notable upgrades from its predecessor.

Design and Display

The Mi Max 2 features a fill unibody metal build. The antenna lines have been made a lot more discreet and are only found on the top and bottom the device.

Display is the same as the outgoing model, featuring a 6.44-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS LCD display. Although the bezels have been made smaller to make the phone slightly more handy.

Internals and Storage

Inside the phone, Xiaomi has decided to go with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. This is, on paper, a downgrade from the previous Mi Max which used a SD 650. But it should help with battery life. However, the rest of the hardware is pretty impressive. There’s 4 GB of RAM and you also get 64 GB of internal storage. And if you still think 64 GB is not enough, you can expand it via an microSD card up to 128GB.

Flagship Camera?

The Mi Max 2 uses a 12 MP camera with dual LED flash and phase detection autofocus. It is the same camera sensor as you would find on the Mi 6, less the OIS, so you should expect some solid performance from it. The front camera is 5MP.

Battery and Pricing

However, the main highlight of the phone isn’t the display or the hardware but it is the huge 5,300 mAh battery that it uses. Xiaomi claims that it can last you through 3 days of usage. To charge up such a large battery, it supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 which can charge the phone up to 66% in an hour.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has been priced at Rs. 34,900 for the 4 GB+64 GB variant. There’s no doubt the price is much more than what we’ve seen in China, but for the price, it provides reasonable specifications that should triumph the competition.

You can buy the Mi Max 2 from the company’s official website.

      • Uncle G it is still cheap in india –

        RATE BSR 1INR – 1.65801897 PKR
        17000INR = 28186 PKR

      • Also Xiaomi manufactures mobile phones locally in India. Which exempts them (Indians) of many taxes which we (Pakistanis) have to pay. :)

      • Still one has the options to buy
        Samsung Galaxy C9 pro
        Samsung Galaxy C7 pro
        Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
        iPhone 6
        iPhone SE.
        iPhone 6s
within same price range. Although Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has good specs but Xiaomi on the other hand did not hold market resale price position. Buying Xiaomi can also be a risk of money. 35K is huge amount. Choose wisely live well.

        • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and iPhone 6s is available in 35k?

Those who buy Xiaomi do not care about its reselling value. They know what they’re buying.
I never bought Huawei or Xiaomi for selling it afterwards, ya to new set aa jata hai ya chinn jaata hai (last time ki tarhan) :(

  • Even OPPO( which have outrageous price tags) has model F3 plus which is better value for money than this mi max 2
