The results of annual examination of intermediate Part-II were announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Tuesday.
The results show the difference between the standard of education in private sector colleges and public sector colleges. The top positions were scored by students from private colleges in most boards of the province including the Lahore BISE board.
A total of 155,122 candidates appeared in the exams and 62.4 percent (96,927 students) managed to pass the exam.
The position holders were awarded with cash prizes by Punjab Higher Education Minister, Raza Ali Gilani, while the welcome address was made by Board Chairman, Chaudhry Ismail.
All the top positions were scored by students belonging to the Punjab Group of Colleges.

Students holding the top positions were awarded a sum of Rs20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 and gold, silver and bronze medals to the first, second and third position respectively.

Out of a total of top 33 positions, students belonging to government colleges obtained only five. The number of private students who scored good positions was two. The remaining 24 positions were all scored by students of private colleges.
Bahawalpur board chairman, Rana Masood Akhtar, said that out of total 46,397 candidates, 25,387 were declared successful showing a pass percentage of 54.72.
A total of 46,397 candidates appeared during the exams and 54.72 percent (25,387) students managed to pass the exam.
The medals and cash prizes were given by Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Muhammad, Iqbal Channar, at a ceremony held in the BISE Auditorium.

The BISE held a prize distribution ceremony for the students who clinched positions in the intermediate annual examination.
The controller of examinations announced the results in the prize distribution ceremony. He announced that a total of 84,569 students appeared in the examination and 66.08 percent (55,810) students passed it.
The prizes and certificates were distributed by Punjab Minister for Local Govt & Community Development Muhammad Manshaullah Butt.

In DG Khan BISE, the pass percentage remained 68.77 for the exams in 2017.
