Pakistan’s largest telecom and information technology exhibition ITCN Asia 2017 is expected to kick off at the Expo Center Karachi today. The exhibition is expected to attract and accommodate around 100,000 visitors during the 3 day event.
According to the organizers, ITCN Asia 2017 is the biggest and the most comprehensive ICT Expo of the country. The expo will begin today and continue till September 21st, 2017 at the Karachi Expo Centre. The event will comprise of 3 days of exhibition and a series of international conferences. It is supported by the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of IT & Telecom and Pakistan Telecom Authority.
The 17th ITCN Asia’s scope shall be greater than the previous version with some new features added to it
Organizers say that during ITCN Asia, about 350 companies will showcase more than 600 brands. A large number of visitors is also expected this year, with more than 100,000 spectators to visit the expo.
The event shall cover key sectors of the ICT industry and provide an ideal platform to showcase the latest technologies/products or services that are related but not limited to: Government, Ecommerce, Retail, Telecom, Cloud, Data Center, Healthcare, Banking, Business, 3D Printing, Digital Signage, Digital Printing, Consumer Technology, Broadcasting Equipment, Lights & LED, Digital Marketing, Security, Fire & Safety and Devices & Hardware.
The ITCN 2017 expo will be spread across 5 halls:
- Hall 1 – Enterprise Solutions
- Hall 2 – Telecom Solutions (focus: GSM / Broadband / ISPs / Cellular Solutions and Mobile Apps)
- Hall 3 – Consumer Electronics Asia, Digital Signage & Printing Asia, Lights & LED Asia and Broadcast Pakistan
- Hall 4 – Security Asia (focus: Security Hardware & Software) and
- Hall 5 – Fire & Safety Asia with focus on fire prevention & protection, firefighting equipment, emergency alarm & warning systems, rescue, etc.
On the sidelines of this exhibition, international conferences on Telecom Summit, CPEC and IT Industry of Pakistan, Challenges for Digital Security for Media, PSEB CEO Forum, Information Security and Change Pakistan Conference 2017 will be held at the Expo Center and IBA CEJ.
Strange how the leading ICT event now lacks any hype or media coverage. I remember the time when people queued up till Bait ul Mukarram Mosque just to enter the event which was displayed over video projector. At that time, I was lucky enough to enter twice without being in queue (early bird).
Strange how the political situation and terrorism has killed an enormous opportunity for Pakistan to develop and showcase its products.
ITCN Asia 2017 is now just like any other exhibition.
