Xiaomi is launching a 32 GB edition of Mi Max 2 for international markets today. The new version will be less expensive (around $235) and will be available for $200 for a limited time.
The 32 GB Mi Max 2 is expected to launch in Pakistan later on but for now Xiaomi hasn’t said anything. Expect the price to fall in the range of Rs. 26,000-28,000.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2’s 64 GB version is currently available in Pakistan for Rs. 34,900.
Design and Display
Mi Max 2 comes with an all metal body. The antenna lines have been moved to the top and bottom of the phone to make them more discreet.
The phone retains its screen size from the Mi Max of old with a 6.44 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display. The bezels have been cut down a bit from the original Mi Max to make the phone more handy.
Internals and Storage
Powering the Mi Max 2 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. This is a downgrade from last year’s Mi Max which came with the beefier Snapdragon 650/652. Day to day performance is the same as before however.
It comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128GB of storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. Increased storage, however, has meant that the phone is priced higher than its predecessor.
Camera and Battery
For the main camera, Mi Max 2 uses one of the sensors also used on the Mi 6: a 12 MP shooter with dual LED flash and phase detection autofocus. It doesn’t have OIS like the Mi 6 though.
The front camera is 5 MP.
The battery saw an upgrade from Mi Max. Mi Max 2 has a 5,300 mAh battery compared with 4850 mAh of the older version. It also has Quick Charge 3.0 so you won’t have to worry about charging the phone for several hours at a time. In fact, it can charge up to 66% in just an hour.
Final Remarks
Now that the company is ready to release a cheaper variant it should make Mi Max 2 a much better buy considering the unbelievably long battery life and the flagship grade camera.

6.44″ Screen, its a phablet, not suitable for everyone.
I prefer 5″ Screen, Mi Note 4 is suitable, its almost identical, except Note 4 has small battery.
As far as i know, mi note 4 also gives pretty good battery life.
Small battery? Lol Note 4 gives SoT of 12 hours with continuous usage.
I was comparing to Mi Max 2 !
What does this mean, “and the flagship grade camera.”? can the author clarify?
