Interbrand has released its annual list of the world’s most valuable brands and the leader is unsurprising yet again. The list is dominated mostly by tech giants, with Apple and Google leading the pack.

Top 3 Companies

It was followed by Google, which grew twice as much (6%) to $141.7 billion. Microsoft rounded up the top three with valuation of $79.99 billion, which shows the sizeable leaders of the industry. It did grow by 10% from last year which shows that the company still has potential to grow.

The Other End of The Spectrum

Their primary competitor, Samsung was ranked at sixth growing 9% year on year, behind Coca Cola (No. 4) and Amazon (No. 5). Automobile manufacturers Toyota (No. 7) and Mercedes Benz (No. 9) sandwiched Facebook in between. IBM was at number 10 with $46.8 billion valuation (and an 11% percent decline) to conclude the list.

Facebook registered the largest lead with an astounding 48% growth over the past year. Amazon at 29% growth was next, followed by Adobe and Adidas.

Other tech companies in the top 20 include BMW (13), Intel (15), Cisco (16), Oracle (17), and Honda (20).

Apple’s Continuous Lead

Apple’s big lead in the list is hardly a surprise. Its close integration of hardware, software and ecosystem have been notably-praised by Interbrands in the past. The company regularly tops lists by similar publications such as Forbes, even if some recent products such as the MacBooks have seen less than ideal reviews.

Interbrand has been releasing the list for the past 18 years now. You can view the entire list of 100 companies by following this link.
