The latest range of Nokia smartphones has received another new addition. Nokia 7 was made official in China today and is expected to arrive in the country on October 24th.
HMD Global unveiled the new Android powered Nokia smartphones this year – the Nokia 3,5 and 6 in February and the Nokia 8 came out in August.
The Nokia 7 doesn’t seem to follow the bezel-less trend but is still a good looking/premium smartphone. It has a vaccum-molded 3D-Corning Gorilla glass construction and a glass back and its frame is a 7000-series aluminium. It also features IP54 certification – the Nokia 7 is splash proof.
Nokia 7 is the first phone in the Nokia series to have a glass back and it’s also the first phone in the series to feature a back-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The display is a 5.2″ IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
Nokia 7 packs a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with RAM options of either 4 GB or 6 GB. Internal storage is fixed at 64 GB. It does have expandable memory via microSD card slot. The battery capacity is 3,000mAh with 18W fast-charging.
Nokia decided to add the “Dual-Sight” feature or as they call it, “Bothies” previously seen in the Nokia 8. The bothies feature basically uses both the primary and the front camera of Nokia 7 to combine their images into a single photo.
The primary camera is a 16 MP shooter paired with a dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is a 5 MP unit that has an 84-degree field-of-view.
Moving onto the software, the Nokia 7 will be running Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box but an update to Android 8.0 Oreo has been promised. The software will deliver a stock-Android experience but does have some built-in apps present.
Nokia 7 will be available in two colors – Gloss Black and Matte White and will hit the Chinese market at October 24th for CNY 2,499 (~Rs 37,000) with 4 GB RAM and CNY 2,699 (~Rs 40,700) with 6 GB RAM.
Its availability and price in Pakistan is still uncertain but we can expect it to arrive in a few months.
