PIF’s 3rd Annual National Innovation Awards to be Announced on 7th Dec

Pakistan Innovation Forum is the country’s first and only National Conference on Innovation and will be themed this year on #Reinvent Pakistan – an exploration of these diverse changes within Government, Business, and Society with potentially radical and transformative effects.

As with previous years, the Conference shall also feature an Innovation Showcase focusing on innovative displays of technological innovation and entrepreneurship suited to Pakistan’s needs as well as the 3rd Annual National Innovation Awards. This will be a wonderful opportunity to support innovation in Pakistan and to advance this important agenda forward. This will also mark the 4th year of PIF’s formation.

Pakistan’s Only National Innovation Awards will be announced at PIF’s Annual Conference – The Pakistan Innovation Forum 2017 on December 7, 2017 at Marriott, Karachi.

Speaking at the Pakistan Innovation Forum 2016, Dr. Miftah Ismail, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Chairman Board of Investment, applauded the efforts of Pakistani Innovators and PIF for creating an innovation culture in Pakistan and noted that Pakistan was full of innovative talent and creative people and all they need is inspiration and support to achieve glory.

Dr. Miftah Ismail presented the 2nd National Innovation Awards at Pakistan Innovation Forum 2016.

Dr. Abdul Bari Khan of Indus Hospital was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions and lifelong service to healthcare, philanthropy, and the society at large.

Usman Riaz, Senior TED Fellow, and creator for the Sheesha Gar – Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animation film – was awarded Special Young Innovative Talent Award.

Other winners included Telenor, UBL, TCS, BISP, Forward Sports, Indus Hospital, Zaheen Machines, Habib University, Numaish Karachi, Invest2Innovate, British Council’s ILMPOSSIBLE, and Aman Ambulances.

The 12 nomination categories are:

  1. Most Innovative University (Programme)
  2. Social / Development Innovation
  3. Corporate/Business Innovation
  4. Technology Startup
  5. Finance/Fintech Innovation
  6. Civic Innovation
  7. Government Innovation
  8. Health Innovation
  9. Education Innovation
  10. Agri+Rural Innovation
  11. Industry Innovation
  12. Art+Design Innovation

Last year’s nominees (not Winners) are eligible to apply again.
