Infinix has unveiled its latest and greatest smartphone yet, the Zero 5. The flagship phone was announced at an event in Dubai.
The Infinix Zero 5 follows the dual camera trend of 2017 with mid-range specifications in what looks like the complete package.
The Zero 5 follows a unibody metal design language that feels oddly familiar. That’s because the back of the phone features dual cameras on a black strip, reminiscent of the Huawei P10 or the Nexus 6P of old. In the current iteration, the camera bump is gone and the entire strip sits flush with the rest of the device.
It features a large 5.98 inch Full HD LTPS LCD display. There is no bezelless screen here which means you’ll have to deal with a larger overall footprint, given the massive screen size.
Powering the Zero 5 is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There is a dedicated microSD card slot included as well. The Pro model of the phones comes with 128GB of inbuilt storage.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Infinix’s XOS skin and the company promises one major OS update for the phone.
It’s a dual SIM phone by default.
This time, Infinix has put a lot of emphasis on the shooting experience. The flavor of the year, dual cameras, make an appearance here and the Zero 5 features dual 12+13 MP rear cameras. It’s a wide-angle, telephoto combo with 2X optical zoom and a portrait mode.
On the front is a 16 MP selfie camera with a beauty mode and artificial bokeh effect.
This will please everyone. Infinix Zero 5 has a large 4,350 mAh battery with xCharge fast charging tech. It comes with an 18 W charger out of the box to make things easier.
Currently the phone is only available in India at a price of Rs. 17,999 (around Rs. 29,000 in Pakistani Rupees). Once the phone launches in Pakistan, you can expect the price to be in the same ballpark.
