Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is in the process of formulating a framework for testing and development of new technologies; identification of spectrum bands for 5G; and constitution of a multilateral stakeholder working group.
This has been revealed in PTA official documents available with ProPakistani.
According to the documents, Next Generation Mobile Services (3G/4G) have gained momentum in Pakistan through consistent policy initiatives adopted over the past four years ensuring availability of requisite frequency spectrum supply to the mobile broadband market.
To stay at the forefront of technology and to enable State of the art service for Pakistani consumers, Telecom Policy 2015 provides measures not only for early commercial adoption of technology but also to provide conducive testing and development environment for upcoming and future technologies. It is, therefore, imperative that we remain proactive in ensuring market readiness for the next wave of mobile communications i.e. 5G.
5G is expected to enable new ground breaking data rates and limits and will considerably enhance the experience of services/applications that are available today.
In view of this and to enable Pakistan to keep up with the growth in the field and embrace new technologies, it is imperative to formalize the regulatory environment through policy for testing, deployment and benchmarking of 5G technologies.
Thus, the Federal Government has issued Policy Directives for compliance of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. In this regard, PTA is in process of formulating a Framework for testing and development of new technologies; identification of spectrum bands for 5G; and constitution of a multilateral stakeholder working group.
Ufone will be first to test 5G. ?
jiska abhi tak 4g b nai aya????? (Y)
Dear friend please note that only Ufone is providing 4G services in the country with VoLTE. All remaining operators are providing only 2.5G services on the name of 3G.
Kab se VoLTE provide kar raha hai zafar bhai hm ne tu nhi suna???
Wo b 3g pe ????
I think he is being sarcastic or works at Ufone ;)
3G launch hine se bhi pehle ka.
Bhai kis ko provide kar rahay hai .just for info
What is voltee
Google it
I m a telecom consultant having over 15 years of experience. Ufone is facing worst management related issues since last many years. Be it rightsizing or ‘wrongsizing’, 3G speeds are dead slow, only having one carrier. No 4G. And how come VoLTE possible w/o 4G (i’m yet exploring…..)
I m using Ufone since last 14 years or so, and believe me, its is rated last in the ranking (Zong, Telenor, Mobilink/Warid and Ufone)
Unfortunately you learned everything in last 15 years except Sarcasm and troll.
Kidding right? Worst network
Aur phir super card mn 500mb ya 100mb 5g de ga
Nahhh. 5k b diye to 5g ne ufone pe konsa chalna hai. I completely agreed with hasan bhai zong and telenor are the best
and why is that?
Certainly it is a step forward from the regulatory authoriy. We have to put our house to order first. How are the 3 and 4G operating. With the QOS by the service providers which is limited to quality of advertisement. There’s no code of conduct on advertising. The licensed operators, advertisers, marketers use their imaginative approach to sell, and its sold. The jammers, other unahthorised barriers be removed without delay, if 5G is to take off.
