Chinese Shipping Company Starts Weekly Commercial Services for Gwadar Port

A Chinese shipping company has started weekly commercial services for Gwadar Port. The first ship docked at Gwadar port on Wednesday.

To commemorate this historic event, a ceremony was held at Gwadar port. Pakistan Navy (PN) Commander Coastal Command Rear Admiral, Mozzam Illyas, and Chinese Consulate General and other dignitaries were present at the event.

Chairman Gwadar Port Authority, Dostain Khan Jamaldini, told ProPakistani that the port was operational since long but no commercial shipping service was available. Now, a Chinese company has started services for Gwadar Port. Compared to other ports, handling and other services charges are lower.

“Chinese company CosCo has started its weekly service for Gwadar port. Its container ship MS Tiger will arrive at Gwadar every Wednesday. It will provide all kinds of cargo including transshipment, Afghan Transit Trade, and normal trade. “ Dostain told ProPakistani

Dostani also said that CosCo Ship MS Tiger weekly route is from Port Bin Qasim, Karachi Port Trust, Gwadar, Jabbal Ali, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The ship will take the same return route.

Pakistan Navy provides security to MS Tiger.

PN Ship Dehshat and PN Karrar provide escort to the ship in open seas and safely bring this ship to Gwadar port.

PN spokesperson said that protection of sea lines for China Pakistan Trade Corridor is the first priority of PN.
