Aamir Ashraf Appointed as Federal Secretary MoIT, Chairman PTCL

Aamir Ashraf Khawaja, has been appointed as Federal Secretary of Ministry of IT and Telecommunication recently. He has also been appointed as the chairman of board of directors at Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

Ashraf Khawaja replaced Rizwan Bashir Khan at the ministry and PTCL, who had  assumed these roles in 2016.

Mr. Ashraf previously worked at National Security Division as a secretary and an additional secretary at Establishment Division. He also served at Federal Education and Professional Training Division as a secretary.

Amir Ashraf Khawaja also served as Director General of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) with additional charge of the National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE) as Director General.

The ministry witnessed a transition period with the appointment and reshuffling of new bureaucrats. Quite recently, the government also appointed Muhammad Naveed as the acting Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Member Finance.

The new leadership is likely to continue its charge in the caretaker set up this year and next year in the new government.
