The district administration of Faisalabad has imposed Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code banning the use of drones to record/cover events. The orders for the ban were issued on the direction of Punjab Home Department.
The ban will remain effective until further notice and all events, including sports activities, will not be allowed use any drone, unmanned aircraft or similar devices to record videos.

Banned Devices
The use of following capturing devices has been banned during the events by the district administration;
- Drone cameras
- Unmanned aircraft
- Remote-controlled model aircraft
- Quad-copters
- Flying cameras
- Helicams
- Balloons
There is no word on why the use of drones has been banned and for how long the ban will remain effective.
Banned in Islamabad
Last year, Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) banned the use of all kinds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Fatima Jinnah Park (also known as F9 Park). The ban was put in place following a request from Pakistan Air Force. It said,
These drones can be used by miscreants to conduct terrorist acts in areas that have been secured and safeguarded against ground attacks.
CDA’s ban remained effective for two months and did not allow flying or operating any UAVs including drones, quadcopters etc.
