Huawei Nova 3 was being teased over the web for quite some time now with its renders and specifications getting leaked.
The device got revealed today, ahead of its launch, when Huawei listed the Nova 3 for sale on Vmall for pre-order without pricing.
Nova series is known to be Huawei’s mid-range smartphone line, but that’s looking to change with the upcoming Huawei Nova 3. The new device packs a lot of flagship features like notched display with minimal bezels and it’ll come with Kirin 970 processor which is known for delivering great performance and total 4 cameras that will make a dual camera set up on both front and back.
Let’s have a look at its first set of official images and its specifications,
Design & Display
Huawei Nova 3 features a sleek uni-body metal design, with all edges curved, that looks pretty similar to Huawei’s Honor 10 or P20 lite with almost similar approach to design, but Nova 3 is going to be bigger with a 6.3-inch bezel-less display panel with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and HD+ resolution, that will also have a notch on the top.
The notch is going to be slightly wider than the one on Honor 10, which would be because Nova 3 will sport a dual camera set up in the front as well. The phone is also seen with a dual-camera at the rear, set up vertically with an LED flash like the one on Huawei’s P20.
The dimensions are 157 x 73.7 x 7.3 mm and the total weight is 166 grams. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back.
Hardware & Storage
The phone uses Huawei’s current-generation flagship smartphone chipset, the Kirin 970 with AI capabilities paired up with 6GB RAM and 128GB standard memory variant.
The handset would also have Dual 4G SIM slots along with one expandable storage SD card slot. Nova 3 is likely to have USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac. It can also use 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously for faster data downloads and uploads.
Camera & Software
The Dual camera set up on the front of the phone will have a primary 24MP front-facing camera and 2MP secondary camera for portrait shots.
The dual camera composition on the back is the same as the Honor 10 with a 16 MP RGB sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 24 MP Monochrome snapper with the same lens.
Both front-facing and rear-facing cameras feature AI support for clicking images with background blur, better face beautification, and scene recognition. The phone also features Face Unlock mechanism using the front-facing camera.
Huawei couples its phones with EMUI and the Nova 3 comes out of the box with the latest 8.2 version, based on Android Oreo 8.1. Nova 3 will also support Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology for better graphics GPU Turbo feature and also has 3D Qmoji.
Battery, Price, & Specifications
With 6.3 inches display that has an HD+ resolution, its safe to say that the 3,750 mAh battery would be able to last through at least a day or two of average use. The device also comes with its typical Super Charge capability like other Huawei phones have.
Pricing of the phone will be revealed at its launch event that will be held on July 18.
