From the visuals, it seems that rescue operations are underway to put out the fire. A heavy traffic jam on Kashmir Highway can be seen as well.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet as the fire erupted around 1.30 pm. However, there are reports that loud bangs were heard as the UPS and generator batteries exploded amid the fire. There were no causalities reported as there weren’t many people present in the shopping market. Over 50 shops that mainly includes leather and clothing stores were completely destroyed by the fire.
The fire department has sent 6 firefighting trucks to put out the fire. Rescue 1122 and Quick Response Force are also present at the scene trying to prevent the fire from spreading further.
