Last night, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized its annual awards ceremony and the winners went home with lots of pride and cash prizes as well.
The awards were given by PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, and former Pakistani captain, Shahid Afridi.
Opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman, who made headlines for his remarkable 210* recently bagged the Special Award for Outstanding Performance of the year. Zaman also became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in one-day international history, which helped him earn the award.
Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was awarded the Imtiaz Ahmed Award and Rs. 1 million in cash prize. Under his captaincy, Pakistan has had tremendous success and this award appreciates all the efforts of the captain.
Making a name for himself after bagging 27 wickets in Test matches, Muhammad Abbas won the Best Test player award whereas Hasan Ali picked up the award for Best ODI player.
Babar Azam also picked up the award for being the Best T20I player while Faheem Ashraf won the Best Emerging Player award.
Speaking about the Pakistan cricket team, Najam Sethi claimed that Pakistan team has found its discipline which it had been lacking in the previous years.
The team’s performance has improved due to the discipline and professionalism.
