Honor has unveiled its latest smartwatch, the Honor Band 4, that brings some cool new features to the smart band-cum-fitness tracker bracket.
This time, it’ll come with a colored AMOLED display and a continuous heart rate monitoring function. Let’s dig in,
The design resembles most smart bands present in the market, with a familiar central button for controls and a minimalist color theme. The textured body is waterproof up to 50 meters, it measures 43 x 17.2 x 11.5 mm and weighs 23 grams.
The screen measures 0.9-inch and can display up to 45 Chinese characters. Most features resemble other smartwatches in the market, other than continuous heart rate reading.
Other devices monitor the heart rate between different intervals, however, the Honor Band 4 does it constantly and even notifies you if your heart rate shows abnormality. The new heart rate sensor has been increased in size to cover more area, so it’s an improvement over the predecessor, and it also an infrared sensor for nighttime detection.
It supports NFC payments, and can also track steps, swimming speed, distance covered, and burnt calories. Honor Band 4 can connect to both iOS and Android devices (iOS 9.0 and Android 4.4 and up), and can last 6 days according to official figures. This could be the “week-long” battery that Huawei’s CEO was referring to.
