Xiaomi President Unveils Mi Mix 3 Over Social Media

Xiaomi is set to launch its next big flagship, the Mi Mix 3, in coming weeks and it might be getting launched much sooner than we expect.

It just got teased on Chinese social network Weibo by the company’s president Lin Bin. He posted a picture, that appeared some time ago on the internet, and seems like a leaked image instead of an official photograph, which indicates that the Mi Mix 3 might be much closer to its release date.

The key selling points of the Mi Mix series include their full-screen displays, luxury design, and close to zero percent bezel size.

Mi Mix 3 is going to succeed Mi Mix 2S and is likely to get a sliding front camera just like Oppo Find X. According to leaks, Xiaomi’s phone will have a manual slider instead, which will be needed to be popped out when a user pushes the screen downwards with their thumb.

Until now, all such sliding cameras and similar iterations have come with a motorized retractor.

Expected Specs

Earlier, an unofficial countdown appeared on another Chinese search engine, that also indicated some of the specifications. The phone, according to that website, would come with a Snapdragon 855, dual cameras, and a 6.4-inch display.

Qualcomm has not yet announced any details related to this chipset, it could be a minimal upgrade over the 845 in terms of performance, but with 5G support. Still, we can’t say for sure, the search engine countdown had no relation to Xiaomi, so it’s still a bit iffy. The chipset might as well be an 845.

As for rest of the specs, the phone is highly likely to have at least 6 GB RAM and a separate 8 GB variant. The phone will have a close to 100% screen-to-body ratio as well as a retractable front camera.
