The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Lahore wing has recovered Rs. 330 million from the house of a former 16-grade government officer in Lahore.
As per initial reports, NAB Lahore raided an ex-government officers’ house in the EME society and recovered cash and bonds worth Rs. 330 million.
The operation was reportedly conducted on a tip-off provided by an informer.
NAB refrained from giving away the identity of the officer stating that further details of assets and properties of the said government official were being acquired.
It added that the bureau confiscated Rs. 10 crores in PKR, prize bonds worth Rs 17 crores, and 3.5 crores foreign currency during the raid.
Earlier in the day, the accountability bureau announced that those filing false or baseless complaints would be proceeded against and they may face a year’s imprisonment and a penalty.
Moreover, the complainant shall have to submit an affidavit along with the complete documentary evidence.
The spokesperson for NAB further told that the inquiry shall be completed within four months after the verification of the complaint. Also, it will issue a diary number to the complainant who will be able to track his/her complaint after two months.
