Honor Earbuds 5e Bring 52dB ANC and 45 Hour Listening

Honor has launched the Earbuds 5e in China alongside the X80 Pro Max smartphone.

The new wireless earbuds offer adaptive active noise cancellation, LHDC 5.0 audio, AI translation, and up to 45 hours of total battery life. Prices start at $44 during the introductory period.

Design And Audio

The Honor Earbuds 5e use a semi-in-ear design with stems. Each earbud weighs 4 grams and carries an IP54 rating for basic protection against dust and water.

Honor has equipped each earbud with a 12mm dynamic driver featuring a diamond-like carbon diaphragm. The material is more rigid than standard titanium or gold coatings and is intended to reduce audio distortion.

The earbuds support the LHDC 5.0 codec and carry Hi-Res Audio certification, allowing them to transmit 24-bit audio. The Honor Earbuds 5e come in Moonlight White and Midnight Black.

Noise Cancellation

The Earbuds 5e feature adaptive active noise cancellation that adjusts automatically according to the surrounding environment.

Honor says the system can reduce noise by up to 52dB at its peak, with an average reduction of 28dB across the frequency range.

Each earbud also has three microphones for calls. AI algorithms filter background noise, while the wind-noise suppression system works at wind speeds of up to 6 metres per second.

Battery Life

The earbuds provide up to nine hours of playback with active noise cancellation turned off.

The 550mAh USB-C charging case increases the total listening time to 45 hours. With noise cancellation enabled, the earbuds last up to 5.5 hours on their own and 28 hours with the case.

Fast charging provides around three hours of listening after a 10-minute charge.

Software Features

The Honor Earbuds 5e include an AI translation feature supporting 15 languages. A meeting assistant can also transcribe and translate recordings. These advanced features require a compatible Honor smartphone.

Other functions include touch and swipe controls, wear detection that pauses music when the earbuds are removed, and dual-device connectivity. Users can connect the earbuds to a phone and computer at the same time.

Price and Availability

Pre-orders are open in China, while regular sales will begin on June 26.

Early buyers can purchase the earbuds for around $44. The price will later increase to approximately $52.
