Pakistan’s premier paceman Mohammad Abbas’s shoulder injury has paved the way for young fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in the third and final Test match of the series on Monday.
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed revealed this after losing the toss against New Zealand.
Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson straight away opted to bat first after winning the crucial toss.
The visiting side made two changes in the team with Tim Southee coming back to the squad for Neil Wagner, while Will Somerville is also getting a debut.
The third Test is being played at Shaikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The series is levelled with 1-1 and the game is expected to be a thriller given the results of the first two matches.
