Khalid Siddiq Tirmizey Appointed as Acting President of Bank of Punjab

Khalid Siddiq Tirmizey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Bank of Punjab (BOP), has been appointed as the Acting President, with effect from December 7, 2018, until a new President is appointed.

It was announced in an official notification from BOP to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

This comes in after the Former President and CEO, Naeemuddin Khan, resigned from his post one month before the expiry of his term.

Khalid Siddiq Tirmizey joined The Bank of Punjab as Deputy CEO in 2008. He holds degrees of MBA from IBA Karachi and Masters in Economics from the University of Punjab. He has over 41 years of experience working at several leading commercial banks in the country.

He remained with Faysal Bank Limited from 2000 to 2008 before leaving his role as Deputy CEO and joining the Bank of Punjab in 2008 for the same role.

As Deputy CEO for Faysal Bank, he was part of the management team that spearheaded the bank’s rapid growth in the banking sector

Khalid Siddiq Tirmizey also worked for PICIC from 1973 to 1979. He has also worked in various capacities at ANZ Grindlays, where he ascended through a series of increasingly responsible positions including heading the bank’s investment banking, retail banking, credit and marketing businesses and has also worked as MD of First Grindlays Modaraba.

He has been Chairman of Board of Directors of First Punjab Modaraba and a regular member.
