Punjab government has decided to establish a standing committee for the prompt resolution of problems and issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
The decision came during a high-level meeting held in Lahore with Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht in the chair.
The meeting discussed issues, problems and reservations of overseas Pakistanis. The proposed standing committee will resolve any issue or problem faced by overseas Pakistanis on an urgent basis.
The meeting also discussed to evolve a strategy to provide complete protection to overseas Pakistanis and their properties in Pakistan.
At present, overseas Pakistanis are concerned about land-grabbing in their absence, especially in Punjab.
The committee also discussed investment opportunities in the province for overseas Pakistanis. It deliberated on measures to facilitate and provide incentives to the expat Pakistanis to invest in the province.
