Every year, the Quaid’s day is celebrated with great fervor and excitement across the country. But Pakistan is not the only place where people commemorate Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday.
In fact, every region where Pakistanis go, 25th December means more than Christmas.
This year, Pakistanis residing in the US have achieved a remarkable feat. In the face of a resolution passed in the City Council with majority votes, the junction of Coney Island and Foster Avenue, Brooklyn, New York has been co-named after the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

As per the available details, the resolution had been filed by two Pakistani nationals. The resolution is an effort by the Pakistani American Youth Organization (PAYO) to uphold the locality’s cultural tradition in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NYC.
In a press conference in NYC, PAYO’s president Wakeel Ahmad expressed delight on the passing of the resolution on the birth anniversary of Jinnah. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the birthday of the father of the nation.
He called it ‘a gift on his anniversary.’ Moreover, there is going to be an inauguration ceremony for the junction next month.
PAYO members Hamayun Aziz, Zegum Abbas, Adeel Rana, and Jawad Shabbir were also present at the occasion.
