Pakistan Railways to Install 300 Trackers in Trains

Pakistan Railways has decided to install 300 trackers in trains by the next week of January 2019.

These trackers will allow train passengers to be able to follow the position and movement of the train throughout the journey, no matter where they are. This is pretty helpful so that passengers are not inconvenienced and know how much distance and time their journey has covered before arriving at their destination.

Not only the passengers but also the ministry will be able to track the movements of the train along with their fuel expenditure, according to a ministry official.

As for how Pakistan Railways got these trackers, the official told that a local engineer volunteered and provided the trackers to the ministry free of cost. The trackers will be installed in trains, keeping the customers updated on their locations, the speed of their train, and the upcoming stations.

He also said that the Ministry of Railways has also been modernizing Control Rooms in the Divisional Headquarters. This was being done so that the on-duty staff can follow the train’s position and respond immediately in case of an emergency.

While responding to a question, he said that Pakistan Railways is considering to operate a modern VVIP train in collaboration with a five stars hotel to increase the department’s revenue.

The higher-ups from different five-star hotels have already contacted Pakistan Railways for running the state-of-the-art train, he divulged.
