Swiss Investor to Open A Chain of Luxury Hotels in Pakistan

Swiss International Hotels & Resorts is mulling to open a chain of its luxury hotels in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The President and CEO of Swiss International Hotels & Resorts, Henri (Hans) WR Kennedie informed this to Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan during a meeting on Friday.

During the meeting, Henri told CM Khan that they were already working on a plan to establish luxury hospitalities in various parts of the province.

He said their plan was divided into two parts.

In the first phase, the Swiss chain will establish five-star hotels in Peshawar and Swat. If successful, a chain of luxurious resorts will be established in Malakand, Mardan, and Chitral, Mr. Kennedie told attendants of the meeting including top ministers and bureaucrats.

On the occasion, CM KP said that promotion of the tourism industry was his main focus and he desired the investor to develop tourist spots in the province. Mr. Kennedie responded in affirmation and said he will look into it during a board of directors meeting.

He said that the government had spotted twenty new tourist spots and now they are working to develop the infrastructure to ensure easy access for local and foreign tourists to the beautiful sites.

“We will also welcome and facilitate both the national and international investment in the whole exercise for promoting tourism in K-P,” he added.

CM Mahmood also informed the five-member delegation of investors that KP government is already in talks with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to establish ski resorts at different spots in Northern areas.
