Notably, a video of a polio worker Irfanullah emerged on January 28 where he was seen struggling to walk through the snow to immunize the children of the village nearby.

The video went viral in a short while and the public appreciated the efforts of the polio team and demanded their acknowledgment by the government.

Two days later, Babar bin Atta arranged the meeting at PM House, Islamabad.

It needs to be mentioned here that the government had commenced a polio immunization campaign last week. In the campaign, around 39 million children under the age of five were immunized.

Apart from the harsh weather conditions, the polio workers have to deal with a lot including harassment, threats, and even assassination.

  • Salute to the polio workers and also to gov for appreciating and recognizing their efforts, May Pakistan gets rid of this disease once and for all.
