Pakistan has received an extraordinary amount of rain and snowfall this winter – thanks to westerly waves. Where these record-breaking rains have proven to be a heavenly gift for the farmers, they have also caused damage, including floods and land sliding, which has taken several lives.
This unusual rain spell is expected to stay a little longer as Pakistan meteorological department has predicted more widespread rain across the country in the coming month as well.
Given below are images from Murree highway depicting the devastated condition of one of the major roads to travel to the north.
So, if you are planning a family trip to Murree or Galiyat, beware that the motorway police and meteorological department have warned people to avoid unnecessary travel.
But if you must; do know that more rain is expected in the coming weeks. Travel at your own risk.
