The emerging speedster Haris Rauf has said that bowling against Indian skipper Virat Kohli helped him improve a lot.
Rauf, who is currently the second highest wicket-taker in the ongoing PSL 2019, was referring to his January’s encounter with the Indian team.
He was on tour to Australia with Lahore Qalandars for PSL preparations, and there he got to bowl against one of the best batsman of modern era.
Rauf believes the moment was the turning point in his career.
I was extremely fortunate that I got to bowl at Virat Kohli in the nets during India’s recent tour of Australia. That experience was amazing as I got to learn a few things and he also gave me some tips which have been very useful for me.
The fast bowler, who has clocked 148kph this season, said he had always admired Indian skipper as a batsman.
Ever since I started to take an interest in cricket, I have always admired two batsmen above any others. One is Virat Kohli, and the other is AB de Villers.
Haris is the product of Lahore Qalandars’ Player Development Program. He got minimum games for Lahore last year, mainly due to the early exit of the team from PSL.
However, in this edition, the right-arm quick has taken 11 wickets in just seven matches so far with an economy of 6.80 and an average of 15.45.
With his blistering performance, Haris Rauf is making a strong case for an international call.
