If Honor Magic 2 wasn’t cool enough for you, there’s a better one coming. The Honor Magic 2 3D features the same design but with a few key specifications that make it better than the original.
As the name implies, this one has a 3D sensor on board.
Now before you point out that it’s the exact same image we used for the Honor Magic 2, there’s a good reason for it. The design of the Honor Magic 2 and Honor Magic 2 3D is exactly the same, with a glass sandwich build with an aluminum frame.
Being the only other manual slider smartphone to hit the market with the Mi Mix 3, the Honor Magic 2 features a 6.4-inch OLED display with a 91.5% screen to body ratio (19:9 aspect ratio), at Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution.
The phone comes with a 3D camera on the front (visible when you slide the phone down) for 3D face unlock and other features. There’s also an under-display fingerprint reader if you don’t want to slide the phone every time to unlock it.
No headphone jack on this one, unfortunately.
Featuring Huawei’s best, the Honor Magic 2 is powered by a 7nm Kirin 980 processor with a graphene heat pipe for better heat dissipation. This will enable the Honor Magic 2 3D to maintain its maximum performance for longer compared to the regular Honor Magic 2.
There’s 8 GB of RAM onboard, with 512GB of internal storage. No microSD card slot, for obvious reasons.
It runs on EMUI on top of Android 9.0 Pie.
The back of the Honor Magic 2 3D features a triple camera setup, with a 16MP f/1.8 RGB sensor, a 24MP f/1.8 B&W (monochrome) camera, and a 16MP super wide-angle f/2.2 lens.
While on the front, the phone has a 16 MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 3D structured light camera for advanced face unlock features and better depth mapping.
Powering the flagship phone is a 3,400 mAh battery with 40W Magic Charge. You can charge it up to 50% in just 15 minutes and up to 85% in 30 minutes.
As there’s just one storage variant of the Honor Magic 2 3D, it’ll come at a price of CNY 5,799 ($864) or a little over Rs. 120,000. It will only be available in China unless the company announces otherwise.
