Civil Aviation Authority Launches Spring Tree Plantation Campaign

Pakistan’s civil aviation authority (CAA) has formally started a spring tree plantation campaign in Karachi with a motto of “one-plant-one-tree”.

Additional Director General of CAA, Mr. Air Vice Marshall Tanveer Ashraf, launched the plantation campaign by planting a sapling near shahra-e-faisal. The plantation ceremony was followed up by an awareness walk and many employees of the organization took part in the walk.

While addressing the gathering Mr. Tanveer Ashraf said that taking care of a sapling until it’s full-grown is as important as planting it.

One month ago, the Secretary Aviation and General Director of CAA Mr.Shahruk Nusrat inaugurated the plantation campaign by planting a sapling at Jinnah terminal Karachi.

The trees which will be planted under this campaign include Neem, Kinar, Moringa and some others that are best suited to survive in the local climate.

It should be noted here that on the directive of Federal Aviation minister Mr. Muhammed Mian Soomro to carry out massive plantation near all airports, a large area of Jinnah International Airport Karachi has been reserved for a fruit orchard and about 100,000 saplings will be planted there.
