Fawad Ahmed to Undergo Surgery After Being Hit on the Face

The Quetta Gladiators spinner Fawad Ahmed will undergo a gum surgery after he was smashed in the face by Imam-ul-Haq’s straight drive on Wednesday.

Bowling his second over, Fawad Ahmed was on the receiving end of a nasty blow which forced him off the field during the Qualifier against Peshawar Zalmi.

Initial reports claimed that Fawad broke his front tooth and is set to undergo a surgery where the cricketer will be implanted with a new one.

The Quetta Gladiators management has confirmed that the Pakistan-born Australian will be fit before the final on March 17.

“..Fawad is to undergo gum surgery around his front teeth. He lost his tooth last night (new tooth being implanted). TeamQuetta is confident that he will play the final on March 17,” ESPNcricinfo’s Umar Farooq Kalson tweeted earlier today.
