PSL 2019: List of Interesting Facts & Stats

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 has been a remarkable and a record-breaking season. With a number of games returning to Pakistan, the fans gathered to make the competition a sight to behold for everyone to see.

Here is a compilation of all the interesting facts and stats from PSL 2019:

Colin Ingram’s 127* is the highest score in the PSL surpassing 117 by Sharjeel Khan for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi on 21 Feb 2016.
In PSL 2019, Quetta Gladiators have scored at 8.63 runs per over in the powerplay, well ahead of the rest of the pack. The average scoring rate in the first six overs in this PSL has been 7.57 runs per over.
During PSL 2019, Kamran Akmal became the only Pakistani player to play 100 T20 matches hosted in Pakistan.

Peshawar Zalmi’s 61 run victory against Karachi Kings was the biggest run-margin victory in PSL 2019 and 4th overall in the history of the competition.
Mohammad Sami’s hat-trick against Peshawar Zalmi was only one in PSL 2019 and 7th overall. At 37 years and 363 days, he is also the oldest fast bowler to take a hat-trick in T20s.

In PSL 2019, a target was chased down on last ball 3 times taking the overall PSL record tally to 10.

The Peshawar Zalmi duo Imam-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal have added 379 runs as a pair in PSL 2019 to become the most successful partnership, going past the tally of 366 runs by Babar Azam and Liam Livingstone.
Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans now hold the highest runs scored in powerplay with 78 runs.

Leaking runs in the powerplay has been a perennial issue for Islamabad United in PSL 2019. In the first six overs they have conceded at 8.71 runs per over this season – the most expensive among all the teams.
Having played 164 T20 matches in his career, Rilee Rossouw has bowled in only four innings and picked up two wickets. Both of them in the HBL PSL.

In T20s since 2018, Asif Ali strikes at an incredible 214.0 in the death overs. Of the players to have faced 150+ balls in the final phase in the time period, none have a better strike rate.
In PSL 2019, Johnson Charles has scored 73% of his runs though the on-side. Of the players to have to scored 100+ in this season, only Liam Livingstone (81.4%) & Umar Siddiq (73.2%) have scored a higher proportion of runs though the on—side.
In the death overs in PSL 2019, Lahore Qalandars  have scored at 8.32 runs per over – the lowest among all the teams. The average scoring rate in the last five overs in this PSL has been 9.25 runs per over.
The top order of Quetta Gladiators has been the backbone of their batting lineup. Across this edition, the openers and the number 3 batsman put together have scored 61% of the team’s runs – the highest among all teams in PSL 2019.
Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings both failed to hit a six in 20 overs PSL 2019, which had never happened in PSL history.
At 44 years and 281 days, Misbah-ul-Haq becomes the oldest player in T20 history to score a fifty. He rescued Peshawar from 20-5.
Kieron Pollard became the first player in PSL history to get out due to obstructing the field. This was only the 13th OTF dismissal in the history of T20s.
DJ Bravo, since releasing the champion song, he now has all four won T20 titles; World T20, IPL, CPL and now PSL.
18 years old fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain is the first local player to get man-of-the-match award in PSL Final. The previous three were Luke Ronchi, Daren Sammy and Dwayne Smith.
Lahore Qalandars set the second-lowest total of 78 in PSL history against Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2019. The lowest target, coincidentally, is also held by Qalandars when they got out for 59 runs against the same team in 2017.
Peshawar Zalmi is the first team in the PSL history to bowl 20 overs without conceding a six.
