Hockey Legends Come Out in Support for Govt Decision of PHF Audit

Following the government’s decision to carry out a forensic audit of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the legends of the game have come out in its support, calling it a step in the right direction.

Olympians and former captains, Hanif Khan, Manzoor Hussain Junior, and Samiullah Khan hailed the decision, saying that the audit was long overdue and it will help identify the culprits who have been responsible for embezzling funds.

Despite repeated attempts to point out corruption, with evidence of dubious payments in hockey’s governing body, no solid action has been taken in the past. The legends added that this step should have been taken a long time ago, however, they pinned their hopes on the forensic audit to expose the corrupt practices in recent years.

Despite huge sums of grants in recent years, the hockey team’s performances have dropped significantly. Earlier, the PHF officials and current players were often seen talking about the lack of funds and proper facilities. However, it has almost always been the case of poor management of funds and the top brass enjoying the funds at their own behest.
