Sarfraz Ahmed: We Can Only Pray For Mohammad Amir’s Form

Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed has expressed his concern over Mohammad Amir’s deteriorating form ahead of the crucial ICC World Cup 2019.

The tournament is scheduled to commence from 30th May and Pakistan are yet to announce the squad for the mega-event.

Mohammad Amir, who was once an automatic pick in the squad, has been disappointing in recent past. The left-arm bowler has picked up only 14 wickets since the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.

In the recent series against Australia, he failed to pick up a wicket from his 9 overs and was dispatched for 59 runs in the first ODI. He was then dropped for the remainder of the series.

In an interview with a local media outlet, here’s what Sarfraz Ahmed had to say on the matter:

Pakistan has a lot of depth in the bowling department, which makes Mohammad Amir’s selection chances very thin.

Junaid Khan, Usman Shinwari and Mohammad Hasnain are all hoping to be paired up with Hasan Ali for the World Cup.
