The Holy month of Ramadan is drawing near and so is the Shab-e-Baraat which is celebrated on 15th Shaban every year. While the faithful spend the day fasting and night worshipping, the young ones are often seen disturbing the peace with crackers and fireworks.
To counter any potential damage, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqat has announced a complete ban on firecrackers and fireworks in Islamabad.
Anyone found violating the order will be penalized under section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code, resulting in an arrest.
The decision has been taken in view of the reports of damage and loss of property and life, which are often heard in the aftermath of the auspicious event. The citizens are also seen complaining about the young generation, however, this time around, there will be strict action in case of non-compliance.
