Legendary Bowler Sarfraz Nawaz Admitted in Hospital

Pakistan’s former Test bowler Sarfraz Nawaz has been admitted to the hospital in London.

The 70-year-old, who introduced reverse swing to the game, has been hospitalized due to heart problems.

Sports journalist Mirza Iqbal Baig confirmed the news on his official Twitter account:

Nawaz has remained a huge part of Pakistan’s cricket. He has represented Pakistan in 55 Test matches and 45 ODIs where he picked up 177 and 63 wickets respectively.

His first-class record also remains one of the best as he managed 1,005 first-class wickets.

Renowned for dismantling Australia at Melbourne, Nawaz is most famous for his 9 for 86 in an away series in 1979. During the course of one his spells during the innings, he bowled 33 deliveries and took 7 wickets after conceding only 1 run.

Following his retirement in 1984, he became a cricket commentator and was later associated with politics.
