Inam, who will be accompanied by national coach Sohail Rasheed is the only wrestler from the country who will feature in the event. He will compete in the 92kg weight category.

He further added that partcipation in Asian Championship was mandatory. Countries which miss the continental event will not be allowed to send their outfits for the upcoming World Wrestling Championship later this year.

Since participation is open to any weight category, he said that wrestlers in 57kg, 65kg and 125kg will make an appearance.

Our focus is on the World Championships where besides Inam Butt we will send three more wrestlers including Muhammad Bilal (57kg), Inayatullah (65kg),) and Haroon Abid (125kg).

The winner at the World Wrestling Champions, to be held in Kazakhstan, will get an automatic qualification for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
