Breaking: Asad Umar Confirms Resignation as Finance Minister

Finance Minister Asad Umar has confirmed that he is officially resigning from his post. The minister tweeted on Thursday to approve the speculations of a cabinet reshuffle.

Umar revealed that PM Imran wanted him to quit the Finance Ministry and take charge as Energy Minister instead.

He, however, did not wish to take work in any other ministry, and would rather not be a part of PM’s cabinet anymore.

“As part of a cabinet reshuffle PM desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance. However, I have obtained his consent not to take any cabinet position. I strongly believe @ImranKhanPTI is the best hope for Pakistan and inshallah will make a Naya Pakistan,” Umar tweeted.

Names of renowned economist Dr. Salman Shah, Dr. Hafeez Pasha, and former finance minister Shaukat Tareen are under consideration to be appointed as advisor to PM on finance.

He is expected to address a press conference soon.

It is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

  • The “jaahil awaam” with 0 economic sense, fooled by the propaganda news, was demanding this and they got it.

Otherwise all the hard decisions he was making are an absolute requirement for the long-term benefit of the economy.

But who cares, continue the same old crap and do politics-based-economy with short-term “image” gains, but long-term economic turmoil. There goes “naya” Pakistan – bowed down to the jaahil’s whims.

  • Presidential system is coming . Resign of current government ministers would do no good to nawaz and zardari party.

    • Presidential system se kia fiada hoga. Log to yahi honge na. sky se kia aliens ko bulao ge safaye karne ke liye. Civic Centre (Karachi) mein khulle aam rishwat aur batta khori ke jari hai, kia kar lia imran khan ne?

  • Very Bad, Very bad decision, if Asad Umar can’t make Pakistan economy good, then no one, now Imran Khan should call beloved Finance Minister Mr. Ishaq Dar. war gaye hun
