ASF Arrests Drug Smuggler at Islamabad International Airport

Airport Security Force (ASF) has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Islamabad International Airport on Thursday. ASF personnel stopped a passenger due to his suspicious activity and took him in custody. A body search revealed the suspect was carrying drugs hidden in his undergarments.

626 grams of heroin was recovered from the passenger who was due to board an international flight. The suspect was arrested and handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation and legal action.

Drug smuggling incidents have been on the rise in the past few months. The law enforcement agencies have foiled several attempts on International Airports throughout the country.

According to a press release of 11th April 2019, Anti-Narcotics Force Pakistan seized 3145.15 Kgs of Narcotics valuing Rs. 2.995 Billion in the international market, arrested 32 culprits including 2 ladies and impounded 10 vehicles while conducting 25 counter-narcotic strikes. The seized drugs comprised of 2999.48 Kg Hashish, 99.58 Kg Opium, 39.7 Kg Heroin and 6.39 Kg Amphetamine (Ice).
