PM Assistant Promises to Meet 100,000 Qatar Job Quota This Year

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, has vowed to complete the 100,000 job quota, recently introduced by Qatar, by the end of 2019.

Earlier, around 45,000 skilled and semi-skilled workers were sent to Qatar for potential job opportunities in construction and other sectors. Bukhari said this while reaffirming the government’s resolve of generating employment for the country’s youth.

The special assistant emphasized the need to create a skilled workforce, adding that his ministry is considering several ways to produce a skilled workforce. He said that he is in contact with relevant authorities in Qatar to increase the job quota for Pakistani nationals.

Bukhari said that increased job opportunities in Qatar for Pakistani workers will make the national economy stronger. He revealed that Qatar has set up three visa facilitation centers at Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi to allow for speedy processing of emigrants’ visas.

Furthermore, there are special facilitation centers to help people looking for work opportunities in Qatar, help Pakistani workers in the country and to reduce the chances of employers exploiting workers.

Bukhari said that these centers are established to protect the rights of the workforce who face several problems with their employers.

“Such a facility eases the visa getting process for Pakistanis, ensure their safety and legal rights in Qatar, giving a substantial boost to the receipt of remittances through legal means,” said the Special Assistant.
