Lahore to Get Its Tallest Building Ever

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has given a go-ahead to the construction of a 45-story building at Finance and Trade Center in Johar Town.

The 500-foot high-rise building will be constructed on a 5.5-acre area and would include a hotel built by an international chain. The hotel will comprise 45 floors, including three basements.

LDA Chief Town Planner Syed Nadeem Akhter Zaidi and Additional Director General for Housing Zarif Iqbal Satti gave the approved plan to the representatives of the Orient Group, which is the financer and the constructor of the project.

The Traffic Engineering & Transportation Planning Agency and the Environmental Protection Agency has already issued a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for this building’s construction.

The LDA has asked the district administration and Rescue 1122 to make special arrangements for the area and be prepared to cope with emergencies like fire incidents and similar incidents.

Director General LDA Amna Imran Khan has also asked the private housing societies in Lahore to earmark the land for Naya Pakistan Housing Program.

“Apartments will be built in skyscrapers on mortgage financing as per Naya Pakistan Housing Programme,” said DG LDA. The authorities have decided to organize a seminar next month in which proposals from private housing schemes will be obtained.
