Ramadan Moon Sighting Committee to Meet on Sunday

The Central Ruet-Hilal (moon sighting) Committee is set to meet on Sunday for the sighting of the Ramadan 2019 moon in Pakistan.

The meeting will be convened at the office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Karachi with Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman in the chair.

The meeting of the federal committee would be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, near the General Post Office (GPO) Islamabad, an official told APP

Besides, the meetings of Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held at their respective headquarters at the same time.

The representatives from each zone will convey the information about the positioning of the crescent moon to Chairman Mufti Muneeb and to the Meteorological Department.

The Met office has said that the chances of moon sighting on Sunday are very minimal. However, the hilal crescent can be sighted till 7:33 pm on Monday, met office said.

Chairman committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman will announce if the moon was sighted or otherwise depending on the received information.
