The ever-growing traffic on the roads around the country has been an issue as there are not enough police officers to effectively perform their duties. A lot of offenders would get away with the violations or worse, pay a small bribe to prevent from going through the whole hassle of paying the fine.
In a push for more digital inclusion in the country, the safe city projects especially the digital ticketing system are playing a big role.
Following the successful execution of the e-challan in Lahore, the government has decided to implement the online system in the federal capital as well.
According to media reports, Islamabad-registered vehicles will be issued e-challans starting from next week.
This system follows the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s integrated e-challan system wherein challan tickets are issued online.
This will help the curb the violations as well see increase the revenue collected by the police department.
