PIA Suspends Flight Operations At Sialkot Airport

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flight operations at the Sialkot Airport.

A PIA spokesperson made this announcement on Tuesday, adding that all the flight operations have been moved to Lahore Airport for the time being.

The spokesperson did not clarify whether it was a temporary move, but a source familiar with the development said the suspension was going to last longer.

“All the Sialkot-bound flights on May 22 (Wednesday) will travel to and from the Lahore airport,” he added.

The flight (PK-210) from Sharjah, which was supposed to land at Sialkot Airport on Wednesday, will now land at the Lahore Airport, he said.

The spokesperson also added that the Saudi Arabia-bound flights (PK-755 and PK-756) will also fly from Allama Iqbal International Airport.

He apologized to PIA’s customers flying to and from Sialkot for the inconvenience. The airline hasn’t mentioned any reason as to why flights have been moved from Sialkot Airport.
